Swath area survey of the bottom and water column:
- obtaining acoustic image (AI) of the bottom and water column;

Search for objects at the bottom and in the water column:
- detection and identification of objects by AI;
- distance measurement by AI;
- measurement of coordinates and dimensions of objects by AI;
- determining the height of an object by its shadow on AI.

Determination of the nature of the bottom relief and its inhomogeneities:
- assessment of relief by AI;
- identification of the boundaries of inhomogeneities;

Determination of the depth along the track of movement of the carrier:
- depth measurement by AI (this method is not a substitute for measurements of the echo sounder).

The work is carried out due to the linear motion of the carrier with the installed SSS on the planned grid of tacks, closing the inspected polygon.
